Hi Guys, Polsaf had an E.G.M. (emergency general meeting) last Thursday, (May 9th) This was regarding a mix up at the A.G.M. Alan (Noon) the new Polsaf Chairman called the meeting to explain to the reps about the mix up, apparently a couple of member's where elected to the committee without a vote (ooops) it was a busy night!! but this was sorted out at the meeting. As off now Polsaf do have a Fully Elected Committee thanks to the 7 member clubs that attended the E.G.M. Plus another committee member.
Committee Member's
Chairman Alan Noon
Secretary Donna Hollett
Pass Sec. John Rawlinson
Treasurer Eric Thompson.
Chairman Alan then gave the Reps a report about meetings he and Donna had with Peels Health and Safety and Port Police. Peel now have a new H/S officer. Alan spoke to 2 guys, John Miller (sorry did'nt write the other guys name down) they informed Alan that John Dent has now left that department. Alan also informed the reps with some Good News and Bad News. Bad News 1st....As off the 10th May (yesterday) All angler's Can NOT fish Seaforth Rocks, this is due to the work starting on the new container berth. This will involve Heavy Machinery moving part of the rocks away plus Heavy Traffic (too and from this area). As we all know this will take a couple off years to complete. The committee and the reps discussed this but will have to wait and see what happens when the work is finished.
GOOD News.. We might be able to fish the Sandon and Huskisson soon. Alan informed the reps he has had discussions with Peels new H/S officer and the Port Police. Again Peels Reps want to change the rules and conditions for us to fish these areas. They have proposed 11 new conditions. For example: All club member's must hand their fishing pass into the security gate when arriving at the gate and pick up their pass on exit of the dock estate.... 1 off the 19 Points Agreements made when Polsaf was formed... Must have Pass in your possession and produced if asked for by a Port Police Officer or Polsaf Bailiff. All the 11 New conditions were discussed and taken on board by Alan and be put forward to Peels reps at the next meeting he has with them. Will read out all the proposed conditions at next Mondays meeting (if aloud) but its looking Good.
There was also so other things talked about, for instance The number of Clubs that attend the Polsaf meetings. It was proposed that ALL the Clubs Affiliated to Polsaf should attend all the meetings for the Benefit of Their Members. This will be looked into at future meetings.
Meeting started 7 30 and finished at 10 00
