Not been out shore fishing since the trip to Fairbourne,so our John and I decided to give Perch Rock a go.
Arrived 3 hours before low,had the beach to ourselves until two hours before, when we were joined by three others.( why do people plonk themselves right next to you, when they have the whole beach to pick from, then tangle you using 2oz rolling leads.!!! ) We fished directly in front of the Brazil Buoy.
Both of us were straight into fish right away,Whiting and Dabs, basically a fish a chuck, and quite a few double headers, fished until half an hour after low.
Gave up counting after 40,we also had quite a few doggies between us and I managed to catch a 3-4lb Thornback Ray.
Someone further down towards the groyne had a Ray as well, don,t know what size that was.
The whiting averaged around 25cm,no big ones though.Never had so many Dabs like this in ages.Seemed they preferred lug tipped with squid.
Best beach fishing session for us for quite a while.
