Perch Rock 25/8/09

A few of us fished Perch rock last night after hearing reports that the rays were in. Quite a few of us turned up; Me, Mark Allanson, Dave Robbo, Ronnie Jones, Mr Chairman, Charlie "the Librarian" Baxter , and Jay Coffey. Wirral sea anglers were having a ray and dog match there and plenty of locals were out too. The odd dab whiting and weever came out to the smaller baits first. A lad fishing next to Mark was 1st into a ray with a cracker of 10-14-0! I was next with a small one of 4-5-0. one of the wsa lads had one of 5-0-0. A local fishing to the left of the venue had a stonking 13 pounder that charlie weighed and photographed. I got another of 6-14-0 and then the tide turned which signaled the end of the rays A couple of small codling came out which is a good sign for the autumn. A great night with good company and decent fishing I think every one caught too which is always a bonus.

a loverly evening at perch rock and to top it some cracking fish pulled out as steve said 10 13 plus and those you pulled out mite be another visit soon well done on those you got

mark ,thanks for the picture of my grandson with his fish,ive had to buy him a beach caster to shut him up,now he wants to join the club
