Mersey anglers open otterspool

Hello all. Two of us fished this match from the club, les and I.. We both started well getting fish in the first hour but the it went very quiet for the majority of anglers. I ended up 3rd in my zone out of about 10. I had 8 fish for 285cm. Les did the same with 8 for 275cm. Mostly eels although I did get my first codling of the season that went 39cm or about 15inches in old money. The odd whiting, flounder and rockling also come in. No rays the winner was Mike Emery from the I.O.M with 17 fish for 524cm. He was on peg one and fished crab 50yards out on a 3oz bomb all match. Well done Mike a fine display from a top angler. Biggest fish was a good 48cm cod for bootlegs Carl Edwards one of a handful of decent codling caught. 45 fished from all over the north of England. Steve.
