| Look at it this way matt, at least you probaly kept everyone chuckling to themselves when the fishing was quiet mate. I suppose going out in bad weather is like going the pub, you know it may make you sick but it doesn't stop you doing it. | |

| Matt, the weather must have been really bad for the stugeron not to work. At least you kept dry It highlights how bad the forecasters are, its a pain when they get it wrong so often. Most skippers check with the coastguard, or on the net and have to make a decision on that. Its a tough call when you have bills to pay. On a differnt note, some of these skippers should go and explore up river. At the weekend I got told of a good mark up river that is producing codling bass and sole. It might be worth some exploring by the beach lads as well. I am going to try up by Widnes in the autumn . I will let the club know how i get on. Anyone fishing this weekend? | |

| I was hoping to get out Sunday, and have a go for Sole, near Liverpool Marina, all depends whether JD recovers from the buffeting on the boat.He had a Right fall on the boat, hurt his ribs in the process. A good website for the current wind strength, and which also gives the wind history for the previous 6 hrs is www.xcweather.co.uk. I always check this before I go fishing. Should have taken notice prior to that boat trip,as the wind on Crosby beach at 5 am that morning was 23mph and had been for some time. | |

| Hi,
The weather forecast for the day of the trip (10/7) was giving variable 3-4, which is more than acceptable. We always tell anglers to take weather gear, because the boat does produce spray,(but not in "normal" conditions as you say). and because being in England, it's more likely to rain that it is to be sunny! As for not having set sail, then we can only go off the forecast and we check two sites, both being the same.
There were no reports to us of anyone being injured on the day, so details of that would be useful. We can't please everybody all of the time, but if the weather was a problem for you, you could have told us and we could have brought you back in. We are not mind readers, and none of the other boats out that day reported any problems either.
Cheers, Lee | |
