Les and Myself fished the Top 30 at Bromborough today. Sad to say it but we didnt do very well at all. We were pegged next to each other which made a nice change. We started fishing and Bill Lindfield to my left started catching small codling on frozen crab baits at distance. I started fishing the same but couldnt keep up with him. Dad was catching at a similar rate to me but there was no pattern to the fishing so we struggled. This was the way it was all match. We ended up on 164cm(me) and 175(dad). Codling and whiting came out and frozen crab on boom rigs at range was the best method in our section. The top 30 winner was Heather Lindfield who gave us all a lesson in how to do it As you can imagine we got soaked and cold. Roll on spring Tight Lines . Ste . P.s Had 2 fish on the Maddies .

Top 30 Final, Bromborough 8.30am – 12.30. 31.8 ft , 2-01-2010

After 5 league matches the top 30 anglers are invited to fish the final if they have fished at least 3 of them. Normally Otterspool is the venue for this match but the height of the tide was not suitable for that venue but perfect for Bromborough.
23 out of the 28 finalists turned out. We had 2 zones paying out 6 places continental style plus 4 big fish prizes, fishing 18 cm measure & release. Money paid out at this match was raised throughout the leagues and with pools on the day gave us a total prize fund of £765.
