| three of fished the alex yesterday mal bell, paul brough and myself.the weather very windy and cold but the sun was out and so were we.got there about 3.fished on the front by the steps,by the knuckle.a couple of pirates turned up,and fished to the right of us.3hrs fishing and not a bite.high water 7 40,7.7mtrs.fished various baits.squid, mac lug sand eel razor<no crab>and rigs.i decieded to put a 1 0 hook on a2ft snood on,baited up with squid and mac, lashed out about 60yds and waited.3mins later my rod tip went down and sprung up.mal was reeling in and i thought he had me,but struck anyway just to besafe.yes i had a fish on and it felt good.paul had to get drop net from my car,as im reeling i heard voices behind me,when i looked it was my lucky mascot<whos name i wont mention>but with the help of paul and mal got it into the net.a nice thornie.pirate john had a set of scales 7lbs 4oz.the only other fish caught was a small doggie by pirate john, packed in about 8 30 with out another knock or bite. | |

| cheers steve, thought you might have caught more at brom.the wind was in the right direction to bring the fish in.was hopeing a few plaice might have been caught.although a few thornies have been caught in the river im still hopeing we have a better summer than last winter.them doggies found down at hall rd last wk have me worried, hope it has nothing to do with the wind farm? | |
