| tried 3hrs upto high and 1 hr over hight on an evening tide. this time not prolific but 3 thornies came to the net . biggest 5lb.11oz. paul brough 60+cm we found its was better useing a long 2 hook soods 3/0 flapper picked up all the rays . nothing came to large pennels . clipping down the 2 hook rig gave the distance and enabled a choice of baits to be presented. the rays were taking lug and quid wraps only last night . sand eel and macs were un touched.anyone who is anble to fish the alex wall .(permit holders.)can find most ray will be caught towards the scaffold pegs ive fished variouse pegs along the wall without sucsess. theres a wider channel at that mark and seems to hold the rays well.70rds will find em no probs .dogs are showing and soon will be in numbers as well as double figure congers. recomended baits quid and lug wrap a 3ft snood cip down 2 hook 3/0 rig seems best the rays normally come on slack water but of late anytime has seen them appear .
well done paul i couldnt remember your name cheers ste for reminding me

| Thanks for the report Jags, may give the wall a go next week sometime, with a couple of the old lags from our club.Nice to see the Raymonds showing, looking back at at our trips on the Alex around this time last year we had a few decent Rays then. Have'nt fished that area you are talking about for a few years, mostly we fish by the steps just before you fish over the wall. | |
