Fishing was slow,we had 3 Thornies,6lb 1oz ,8lb 10oz and 9lb 12oz plus some decent whiting,but no coddling and no Dabs,other boats out had similar,one boat had a Thornie of 11lb 10oz.

We were all using pennel rigs more or less, with squid/lug catching the most fish.Sand eels and the mackerel were being ignored.

River was like a mill pond, with light rain all afternoon.

Waiting to see how the club charter trip got on today. Cool

A party of us were returning from a private charter trip in the Mersey yesterday (Saturday ) it was dark as we neared the entrance to the Marina gates ,when we looked up we could see that there were quite a few people fishing from both sides of the entrance gates. Anyone with any common sense would reel their lines in,to avoid losing rod and reel.I have fished here many a time in the dark, and you can see boats arriving, and also hear the alarms go off when the bridge is about to be raised for boats coming in and out of the Marina.

Any way,as we were tying up in the lock, some geezer appeared on the top of the wall screaming down at us,at first we couldn't make out what he was saying, it turned out he was fishing by the entrance and our boat had caught his line, ranting on about the skipper had knackered his abu reel etc.

Having got very little time myself for the Yahoo Henri's that sail in and out of this Marina, the skipper of our boat did no wrong,he came in on a center line,so the guy who supposedly had his reel damaged should have used any common sense he had Shocked and reeled in.
