Hopefully have another good summer this year but my wishlist includes:-

1. Fish for tope again from the rocks at Hafan-y-mor
2. Get a double figure ray from the river
3. Get at least 1 match win
4. Get to grips with distance casting
5. catch something big enough to eat!!!!
6. ...and finally just get out more and enjoy the fishing.

Hello chaps. Targets for this year
1 A smoothound off the rock channel bank
2 more sole fishing from Bromborough and the cockle hole
3 Qualify for the SAMF masters
4 A 2 pound flounder out of the alt
5 Finally crack pendulum casting
6 find good beds for maddies, rag and easier crab marks!
7 Finally and most importantly, get my little boy, Steven, out fishing with me

Competition wise, just want to carry on learning and improving. I will be doing less club fishing and doing more bigger matches to that end. Thats if i can get the weekends off! Tight lines lads.

i am sure if we had a decent summer we all would catch a lot more than we have been doing this summer i would like to get among the smoothies the bass and plaice we have done it for the last four to five years because in summer the mersey has been on form for the last few years, i think yesterday was my last day for attempting to catch cod for this year,on our boat since we bought it in november we have had 14 trips each one between 10 and 12 hours i have had one cod big enough to take home, not very good but apart from one trip the wind has been from the east,i do think there are cod in the river but not in any great numbers maybe we will get a late run may be the wind will move round to the west for a few days then they may start to feed again ,may be i will win the lottery and bugger of to warmer parts
then again maybe some members will start taking part on the forum and submitting threads or at least giving their views but i think i have a better chance on getting a 30 pound bass before march

Hi Mark, what a lot of fish you are after. Is there that many in the river?? After another grooler in the river on the boats out of i think five or six only two managed to catch. Any ideas as to where they have gone to, what bait they are taking, Thanks Tim, PS i bet you catch most of your species
