| Those venues will see big numbers of fish coming in mate Talacre in feb will need LOADS of fish to win it . I see you have picked venues where worm fish and squid produce which should keep people happy. Here's my take on them. Llandudno- Plenty of whiting and dogs to sandeel and mackerel. Distance can be an advantage Bromborough- The only venue where crab can be an advantage but not always. Codling, whiting dabs flounder to lug, rag fish and squid Dock wall - easy fishing plenty of whiting dabs and codling to lug squid and mackerel Perch Rock- my favourite venue on the mersey Loads of whiting and dabs to all baits at any distance Talacre - Dab city snotty lug and mackerel The Alt. Dont know anywhere else that fishes as good in March. Flounders close in on Rag razor mackerel and blow lug. Long, light snoods Lets hope you get the numbers mate. I'll give you fair notice now though, i dont think i will be able to do all of them due to family commitments, and other fishing commitments. It would be nice to see a few more members having a go. | |

| yes matty the members voted home for the fur and feather, we need an easy venue that will catch fish (hopefully) have picked Bromborough dock wall at the moment 22nd November H/W 1430 8.4m Meet dock rd south at 1000 Fish 1100 - 1500 what do you think The club matches dont need to be so dependant on this. have still got the Angelsey shore cup to come yet, where would you like to fish some ideas would be nice from the members, dont forget i need dates and times of any venues you would like to fish mate | |

| Hi Mark, I told you my preference,Chesil Beach .but seriously,I just find it a bit ironic that some people are prepared to go and fish LLandudno and walk some distance to fish at Talacre for a Winter league match, yet, when it comes to the clubs annual Fur N Feather match, which is open to all the sections of the club, they don't want to travel outside of the Liverpool area. Just baffles me. Or maybe they don't like coaches | |

| I agree mate personally a coach for the fur and feather isnt great 1. we would poss need 2 coaches for the members and if the weathers bad they may not show 2. the likes of arnside which i think is a worse walk than talacre. 3. if the weather is bad it will make fishing very uncomfortable, at least when its local you can go home 4. most of the away venues are too weather dependant i.e arnside, if it rains the week before there will be no fish here. 5. if the fishing is ok in the river why go somewhere else for whiting?
If the members want a coach to arnside next year the new beach captain can sort it for then. Chesil beach --- dont know anything about the place, if you want to get a date and time sorted we can have a look at it. was thinking of maybe getting a coach over to the east coast around the moggs eye area when the smoothies are in next year | |

| Got to admit, i am suprised that the members voted for home. I abstained as i wont be doing much fishing this winter and dont know if will be able to do it. The fishing on the last 2 coaches hasnt lived up to expectations but thats always will be a problem going to away venues. | |

| Thanks Dave for your comments which I heartily agree with. Firstly we should stop the moaning about numbers involved with both actual fishing and use of website. I am sure lots of members log onto the site to view both comments and fishing reports without adding their comments. Statistics prove that our website is one of the most visited. OK perhaps it would help if more members posted their comments but it is not essential to try and badger people to use the site. Secondly, as regards fishing, those who attend matches enjoy the cameraderie as well as the fishing. Some members have lives outside of fishing and to them it is JUST a hobby. Lets be realistic the club is well suppported, has matches enjoyed by those who attend and therefore those who dont are missing out. As you are aware Mark has been doing a great job on the Beach front and myself,Dave and Ronnie have attended most of the matches recently although we are committed small boat users, perhaps we should be encouraging more members to come and join us and see what they are missing. Thirdly, I would have preferred a coach trip to somewhere different for the Fur & Feather but majority rules. I hope we get a good turnout especially by all those who voted for a local match. Finally lets not forget we are trying to encourage a more positive out look and participation by our members so please drop the negative attitudes. We are a successful, well supported and attended club who encourage members to speak their minds and have their own opinions. Lets not stifle that. | |

| Well said that man Next thing:- Winter league, as you have noticed most of the matches are going to be Whiting, dabs poss codling(dogs from Llandudno) so bait selection will be easy, its safe to say this winter league will be NO CRAB this wont deter from the fishing, it just means everybody is in the same boat/beach as everyone else. | |

| I agree with everything Steve said , the website is great ,how many clubs have one ? i check it almost everyday for news from members and put my own input when i feel it is necessary , i go charter fishing ,small boat and beach as and when i can and weather permitting ,so it suits me being part of a club that fulfills all of my requirements when available and also a great bunch of lads to boot ...keep it up ...barny | |
