Hi Boys,, 3 boats launched new Brighton Sunday 19th may,,, Blu Noze, Jedi and Kingfisher. Gorgeous flat calm morning and the forecast was for it to drop further to 1mph. ..2 boats headed to the rough ground and Jedi went on to the Counsellor wreck...fishing was steady with dabs, dogs, whiting, codling , a nice bull huss about 8lb and then a thorny for keith of about the same,, only 1 solitary pout for pete plaskett on blu noze,,,,Colin Cooke on Jedi came back to join us after visiting the Counsellor as he was only catching dogs and dabs... we all stayed there till about 12.30 and then headed back towards the rock channel to see if we could bag any other species. we could see the beach lads and were hoping they were catching some fish as the crabs here were taking everything even crab!.. Keith managed to catch a small bass ( insize ) and a couple of thornies again but it was dabs dabs dabs, and weavers again,,, steve mcqueen on blu noze managed a good flounder of 38cm. No smoothounds were caught even though we all had fresh crab! All back on the beach for 3pm safe and sound... a good days fishing,, plenty of fish all day long but only 9 species overall which I thought was a bit disappointing...there was no mackerel out there and I still think everything is about 4/5 weeks behind.. I think once they start to show the fishing will be so much better,, results on the day...Jedi added 1 specie, Blu Noze added 3 and Kingfisher added 5 species.. Kingfisher now leading after 2 legs with 7 species, Blu Noze now 2nd with 6 species , Jedi 3rd with 4 species and Hunter 2 and Josam both on 2 species...Pity there was only 3 boats out, the weather was glorious,, its not very often we get this sort of weather and tides to match!,, thanks again to those that attended,,,

Good report Keith, sounds like we missed a great day to be out.
It was a bummer for me and Tim but we both had prior arrangements for Sunday unfortunately.
We'll be there next time when hopefully the fishing has picked up a bit.
