mersey road today

with the boat stuck in the marina until the work on the lock gates is finished 4 of us ronnie a mate and his son and me decided to do a bit of beach fishing, last sunday we fished at newbrighton we caught a few flatties and whiting today we decided to give mersey road a try, with the tide being so big we thought we would have trouble holding bottom but as it turned out it was not a problem, holding upright was the problem with the wind blowing hard and straight down the river but after a short time the wind eased and it finished up a half decent day we had around 30 whiting and small codling between us some of the whiting where a decent size the biggest pushing one and half pounds all in all a good few hours next week the town hall steps
