| The NWASAC TWO Day Festival took place on Sat 3rd and Sun 4th Dec in very wet and windy conditions. This match firmly set on the match anglers calendar for the past 18yrs attracted 96 Top anglers and internationals from all corners of England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and the Isle of Man. The event was fished as two individual matches with a super pool based on zone positions over two days. International east coast angler George smith from Grimsby took the 2 day championship with 2 zone wins catching 49 codling and whiting over 2 days, taking home the two day trophy, anyfish anywhere rod and a total of £755. International east coast angler Neville Charlesworth was runner up, with two second in zones, winning him a total of £520. | Ta Keith, me, dad, mark. phil Foster, ben and pete harrison all braved the elements and fished hard over the two days. results varied and although we all caught it was a struggle on some pegs. 96 anglers fished, so each zone averaged 24 anglers in each. The overall result went on zone position . if you won a zone you got one point 2nd 2 points and so on. Dad had a 6th in zone on Saturday and a 5th on sunday giving him 11 points , good result. Not too sure of the others, think Ben had a 7th on saturday. I came 5th in my zone on saturday and won my zone on sunday. Pretty sure that i came 4th overall so absolutly made up. My best codling was 46cm About 2 and a half pound. Dad had one of 47cm . I also had a nice whiting of 39cm which weighed in at 1-3-0. no real pattern to the fishing with some pegs getting the codling others the whiting. Big thanks to Heather , Bill and all who helped to make it a success. | |
