| back down to Weymouth again last week for another 2 days charter fishing onboard Flamer iv skippered by Colin Penny - was supposed to be 2 days but due to cancellations could only do one days fishing - so we went flatty fishing on the banks for 10 hours not many plaice came onboard but the size was large ie 3lb 4 lb and the biggest one came to me on the last drop of the day 5lb 8 oz which is now another club record - other fish caught were doggies pouting and red gurnard was hoping for a decent turbot but managed to catch one of 6lb which made my days fishing as only two turbot were caught plus a 13lb Undulate ray - not a great days fishing but the size of the species made up for the amount of fish caught.... overall Weymouth isn't fishing as good as it has over the last couple of years the fish are there but not in large numbers but the charter skippers are certain it will pick up again - should have been here yesterday was mentioned a few times...... | |
