| Summer League round 5 Saturday 9th August Bromborough Meet at 1-30 at the factory gates, bottom of dock road south. Fish 2-30 = 6-30 high water 5-26pm 7.5 m Fishing Information Fishing is from a dock wall backed with long grass and brambles. We usually fish to the right of the groin. We are fishing over mud and sand with the odd small area or stone and mussel beds.I would expect eels, flounders small whiting and the chance of a sole or bass.Fish can show at all distances from down the wall to maximum distance. The sole tend to turn up down the wall over high/slack water. They seem to have a preference to small worm/crab baits fished tight to the bottom. I have found the eels and flounders take crab best fished off longish snoods, but blow lug can take fish here too. Standard beach gear is needed and 6oz leads for when the tide turns. On the ebb the fish run further out heading for the main channel. This is when bigger casting distances are needed. Take drop nets if you have one as decent bass can turn up; Ian Griffiths from the nwasac personal members had a6 pounder there about 4 weeks ago. Baits , crab is best along with lug, and rag for the sole. CAUTION. Pleas be careful on this venue. There are metal hoops and bars sticking out at variuos points along the wall. The brambels can trip you up too AND watch out for the dogsh%t, rolled my trolley through a huge one last time Tight lines. Ste | |
