Just a quick report on our day afloat.
Set sail 8 am.First three hours spent inshore, fishing for smooth hound and Bass.
First to catch was the skipper (Tony Parry) who had a 13lb 12oz Smooth hound, then another two,but smaller.all on peeler crab,(we all had peeler, supplied by the skipper).
James (Mr.coffey)also had a small hound,Les clark had the only Bass of the session,he said it weighed 7lb 1oz,but I think he got his figures back to front
Moved out to just off Burbo bank wind farm, spent the rest of the trip here, into joey mackerel straight away, rest of the catch consisted of Dabs, pouting, poor cod, whiting, bullhuss, doggies and a single small Gurnard. Some good size Bullhuss came aboard, but most fish were on the small side.
Weather was ok for most of the day, except for an hour early on,when we were hit by torrential rain and hail stones.
Its was hard going for 10 hours ,on a boat that was rocking and rolling all the time.Hard to stand up at times.
Some pics from the day.
