Went out fishing on Gary's boat [wirral boat club] last Saturday.
Weather not as bad as predicted 16mph southerlys due to increase later in the day
Launched at 7.45 and fished mainly in the Rock channel .Fairly sheltered by Harrison drive sea wall and headland.
During the course of the day Gary and I caught 8 species. As well as the usual we caught both Starry and smoothhounds, biggest about 10/12 pounds. Gary caught 4 Bass the biggest was about 7lbs. Really lovely fish.
Mid-afternoon the wind picked up as predicted and we upped anchor but had to wait offshore until tide moved off the concrete "road" at New Brighton.
Not a bad days fishing considering most people said it would be too rough.
Incidentally as usual, as soon as the lifeguards left manning the barrier it was open season presumably for those without passes to use the launch ramp.
