Tony and myself at the last moment decided to fish the Alt. It was a low tide 7.3m h/w 1745hrs. It was not a bad days fishing it was slow at first but when it reached high water I hooked in to a flounder 34cm caught on lug shortly afterwards Tony had a double header flounders 32cm/36cm which were caught on rag and mackerel. I then hooked into my secong flounder of the day 36cm caught on lug again. We had planned to fish an hour after high water but it went quiet again so we packed up. All in all we had a pleasant afternoon s fishing.

Well in lads. Dids, light beachcaster flattie rods are the order of the day. smallish hooks on longish snood do well for me. usually worm tipped with mackere
is what catchs this time of year. From liverpool head towards southport on the formby bypass. Turn left heading to hightown. at the roundabout get onto thorncroft avenue and drive along. you will see a kids playground on your left and the entrance to the sailing club is a little further along on the right. Park up using a bit of consideration to the residents and walk alongside the yatch club to the shore. Turn left and you will see the estuary. Flounder city!l
