Open matches 2011

Les and i are booked on to fish the skua 2 day open at Talacre next weekend. By all accounts its going to be scratchy with not many fish showing , mostly dabs and the odd whiting, codling,and flounder. Its 3 hooks and everything counts. Been out getting bait today but we still need to get some black, blow and maddies if we get the time. I'm going to take some frozen black out of the freezer tomorrow morning and unwrap them and leave them on the shed floor all week so they start to turn to snot. Hopefully that will do the trick for the dabs!

Most of the pm's matches are opens but there is a league as well. Its only a tenner to join . Some top class anglers fish these matches so its a great place to learn. Cheers

Hello all, i'm going to try and keep all the members posted on local opens that are happening through 2011. I know they're not everyones cup of tea but a few members have expressed interest , so i will post all details as i receive them. I would like to draw attenttion to the matches run by the NWASAC( north west association of sea angling clubs) We are members of this association and they organise a lot of events locally yet only a handfull of us fish them. Lets support these events and put our club on the map. The Pms matches are also part of the NWASAC organisation and are an excellent set of matches, friendly but competitive and a good bunch of lads.. I will have details of Januarys matches quite soon , keep watching
