Hi everyone
John Rawlinson, POLSAF Hon Sec, has asked me to correct a couple of items from the AGM, so I think the best way to do this is to paste the actual minutes here on the site. The main point appears to be a misunderstanding about the current situation regtarding fishing the Huskisson and Canada walls. See minutes pasted below.
Official POLSAF minutes AGM 15.04.2010.
Chairman opened meeting at 8:00pm
Apologies from WSA.
Elections
Chairman I.McKay
Treasurer E.Thompson
Secretary J.Rawlinson.
Secretary updated meeting on expanding fishing areas. At the moment work is still underway on Huskisson dock which prevents access. Canada dock has no access and is therefore not fishable. When work is complete on Huskisson dock we are confident of being allowed on officially, until then it is out of bounds. The secretary is in regular contact with MDHC and will publish when the situation changes.
Renewal of existing passes is scheduled for August, this was set to coincide with a format change to the ISPS pass, POLSAF have had discussions with MDHC about changing the renewal to January to coincide with the insurance renewal for most clubs, however given the fact that the physical appearance of the pass may need to change in August, this seems unlikely.
Member clubs were asked to provide a list of current members who hold a pass in order to identify those still in possession of a pass but not covered by club insurance.
The proposed website for POLSAF was discussed, Ian McKay has a contact who quoted 150 pounds for a 5 page site. It was agreed to allow the company to work on a site for our approval at the next meeting.
Affiliation fees were received from : Southport, St Helens, Mersey Anglers, NWASAC, Mersey Pirates, Buccaneers, Sefton, Halton, Chorley and district.
POLSAF competitions were discussed. It was agreed by the meeting that Dave Irvine will head a sub committee, hopefully made up of beach captains from member clubs, to organize any new POLSAF competitions including the F&F, dates for which have been set as 18th 19th December.
Meeting closed 10:00 pm.
So, for the avoidance of doubt, until the abovementioned problems with the Canada and Husisson are resolved the situation is that, for the time being, both are not open to us for fishing for the reasons stated above.
Cheers
Ian
