Fished this match today, very dissapointing turn out only 5 of us. Everyone else must have had sense! It was bitter! We started at 10 with high hopes after seeing the near gully full of flattie tracks. I'd spent an hour yesterday phoning around for fresh black and ragworm to no avail so made do with fresh blow lug, frozen black and some sticky blacks tipped with mackerel. Didnt think it was worth going for the cod and whiting in daylight and smalllish tide. Best bet was flounders and rockling. Had a few light rigs and cast them 30 yards out. nothing there. cast 70 yards out, nothing there. the morning continued like this tiil 12 when derek got a 20cm rockling. I kept casting close in , about 30yards out hoping for anything. About 12.45 got a decent bite and reeled in a 21 cm rockling. Carried on fishing and Jags pulled in a 20cm rockling. That was it! .It was nice to see out the fishing year with a win even if it was by a cm! Thanks for organising the match Joe, lets hope the fishing is better next time Happy new year cheers

our match will fish a lot better. Hall road IS a night time venue, being a shallow beach. The tide is bigger which will also make a positive diffference. lets hope the club members support it in decent numbers. its a nice easy venue to fish, comfortable , no fancy tactics needed, lug caches fish there and you only need to cast 60 yards to reach the fish
