Not been out for a while with work and mrs working w/end. so this weekend me and degs get a bit of spare time and with no wind alll week we thought we'de have a go for the rays.
with it being a bit early we wern't to confident so thursday night we went push netting and managed a few fresh shrimp and 11 fresh peeler.
combined with frozen s/eel maccci and squid we set of late friday (overtime @ work) we headed to our favourite mark.
Set up and used a variety of rigs and combinations of baits. within minutes we had a few small rattles which later turned out to be small y/ting. then mid run we had a few dogs (that's a good sign this early in the year).
then an hour before high just the one little tap and pull down and a small thornie about 3-4lb.
and that was it it went dead over high and with the temp dropping we called it a day just after midnight and home in 45 minutes.
