| Hi,, four boats fished, Hunter 2, Blu Noze, Sea Raider and Kingfisher...absolutley flat calm. no wind, glorious sunrise ( wish i had a camera with me, but didint ) some fished the clock tower and 2 boats went straight to Pluckington area..fishing was steady with lots of big dabs ( i had 2 dabs on a 4/0 pennel! ) and some good whiting as well..cod were caught steady with a few 2lbers being returned to fight another day..Ritchie McGibbon on Blu Noze was the 1st to catch a decent one at 6lb 10oz ,,, this was going to be the biggest of the day until i caught one @ 7lb 15oz ( weighed on shore ) ,,, the fishing was good with lots of other charters and small boats in the river...you have to take the chance and get out when you can with the weather we have had in the last few months...glad to see Les Clarke crewing again for Hunter 2,, ( looks like a permanent crew possibly? ) and getting some experience from our former chairman,,,lets hope it is...great day to be out Small Boat Fishing,,its been a long time since the weather and the fishing was great on the same day,,,thanks again for all who attended,,lets hope we can get the same weather in the future,, | |
